OFFICIAL: Aston Villa sign former Chelsea captain John Terry

Born on December 7th, 1980, John Terry joined West Ham United academy at the age of 11, and went on to become a member of Chelsea academy four years later. He made his breakthrough to the Blues’ first team in 1998 when he made his debut against Aston Villa in a League Cup tie.

John Terry went on to make over 700 more appearcances for Chelsea, scoring 67 goals. Before the start of 2004/05 season, John Terry was made club captain by former manager Jose Mourinho. In his 19 seasons with Chelsea, he has won 5 Premier League titles, 5 FA Cup titles, 3 League Cup titles and more. At the end of 2016/17 season, Chelsea decided not to renew Terry’s contract, and he became a free agent on July 1st.

John Terry was also an established England international throughout his Chelsea career, making 78 appearances for his country.
